THE BUSH

THE BUSH

THERE’S A BUSH OUTSIDE MY WINDOW
THAT SHUDDERS IN THE WIND
I SOMETIMES THINK
I SHOULD TAKE IT IN
TO PROTECT IT FROM THE WEATHER

SILLY THOUGHT

ONE OF MY CHILDREN IS SICK
I WOULD LIKE TO TAKE HIM IN
BUT CANNOT
THAT’S THE WAY LIFE GOES

I FEEL LIKE A SHEPHERD
WITH SICK LAMB
I CAN CONSOLE HIM
BUT CAN’T MAKE HIM BETTER

 SO I PRAY

 THERE’S THE RUB

I’VE ALWAYS PRAYED
YOUR WILL BE DONE
YOU KNOW WELL
HOW TO RUN A WORLD

I WANT A CURE
A MIRACLE
BUT I’M GRABBING SMOKE
ATHE WATER
RUNS THROUGH MY HANDS

ASK ANYTHING IN MY NAME
IT WILL BE GRANTED
BUT SOMETIMES
THE ANSWER IS NO

PARENTS
TAKE CARE OF THEIR CHILDREN
WHEN THEY ARE YOUNG

CHILDREN
TAKE CARE OF THEIR PARENTS
WHEN THEY ARE OLD

IT’S THE NORMAL ORDER OF THINGS
 WHEN IT’S NOT
IT HURTS

GOD
WHO KNEW ME
IN MY MOTHER’S WOMB
TAKE CARE OF MINE
TAKE CARE OF ME

WE’LL WORK LIKE HELL TO FIND A CURE
CONSOLE THE LAMB
 HOPE THAT HEAVEN
WILL HONOR OUR ACTIVITY
